3 Best: Charitable Beauty Products

Charitable Cosmetics

We’re so happy that there are more and more companies in the world that encourage conscious consumption and try to give back to those communities and suppliers that partially accounts for their successes. Here are three products that not only make us look prettier but also make us feel better with every cent spent:

1. Care for your hands as you help save the bees with Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream. The company donates £10,000 a year to Help Save the Bees projects around Europe. Additionally to it, if you purchase any product from the Bee Lovely range in Sweden, two bees will be placed in Bee Urban Hive on Kulturhuset rooftop in Stockholm.

2. MAC‘s long-running Viva Glam campaign raises funds to help women, men and children affected by HIV and AIDS. Sales of the six permanent range lipsticks and numerous collaborations (including the most recent ones with Rihanna and Nicki Minaj) go to the MAC AIDs fund, which has pledged to raise $2 million to the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDs.

3. If you buy any L’Occitane product from the Shea series you contribute to helping 12,000 women who produce shea butter in West African Burkina Faso – one of the poorest countries in the world. L’Occitane‘s foundation funds literacy programs, provides financial support and promotes entrepreneurial action so that women can develop their small businesses and become economically emancipated. The whole range is pretty much amazing, but the Hand Cream, the Foot Cream and Ultra Rich Face Scrub are definitely our favourites. The scrub has been specially formulated to gently exfoliate even the driest skin, thanks to its creamy base, enriched in 10% shea butter and chestnut extract.
