New Year’s Eve Make-Up Inspiration

New Year's Eve Make-Up

It’s now the time of the year when you can finally unleash your inner make-up queen and apply all those glittery eye shadows, super bright lipsticks, crazy nail polishes, false eyelashes and other cosmetics that you’ve accumulated over the past twelve months but never had the occasion to wear them to. We won’t stop you from applying the most flashy and iridescent combinations, we just have one piece of advice: Try to avoid putting everything on at the same time.

For us at Beauty Pie, 2013 was a year of strong eyebrows and that’s what we are going to accentuate on the night we’re saying goodbye to this amazing year. We will go as far as rocking golden eyebrows! We’ve seen it at Christian Dior‘s Spring 2014 show in Paris and are brave enough to use it in real life. If not on New Year’s Eve, will we ever?

To make this happen, you won’t need any eye shadow or eyeliner, just gold paint for shiny and mind-blowing results. Make-up artist Pat McGrath who came up with the runway look, shared the secret behind it: her team bleached the models’ brows (lucky blonde-heads) before applying gold pigment (for example, Make Up Forever Metal Powder in Sunflower Gold) and then some micro glitter (just pat some on the brows with a wet brush or try Stuck Up Adhesive so your glitter won’t go anywhere during the whole night).

Now, if you already have a pair of statement brows, there’s no need for any more colour or drama in the eye area. Well, of course New Year’s Eve won’t be New Year’s Eve without a little mascara, or will it? For unreal length and head-turning volume use Benefit‘s they’re real!.

To complete the look, go for a petal-stained lips effect (use more colour at the centre of the lips before diffusing outwards like unfurled petals) and just a little blush in a tone similar to your lipstick. Our favourites right now are YOUNGBLOOD Dragon Fruit Lipstick and Bobbi Brown‘s Blush in Slopes shade (it’s impossible to over apply and it blends perfectly).

There’s no need to wear any jewellery as you’ve already accessorized yourself in the form of your eyebrows, so just frame your face with long, straight, shiny hair and you’re ready to celebrate the coming of the New Year. We hope it’ll be as bright and beautiful as you are and we can’t wait to see your party make-up pictures on our Facebook page!

Happy New Year! <3 Beauty Pie
