Fall is a great opportunity for new beginnings: this time around we truly believe that with a holistic approach and a bit of self-discipline we will be able to achieve that perfect, flawless skin we’ve been dreaming about ever since we fell in love with photoshopped goddesses from the pages of glossy magazines.
From now on we promise ourselves to remorselessly fight against skin imperfections like acne and enlarged pores by religiously sticking to the chosen regimes, thoroughly cleansing, deeply moisturising, eating healthy and stop picking at our faces (oh, well, ok, at least getting a proper tool for it). Here are five things we wish we had in our arsenals to make our resolutions a little more reasonable.
From top right corner, clockwise:
It’s multi-purpose. It’s multi-award-winning. It’s Eve Lom Cleanser that was described by Vogue as “probably the best cleanser in the world”. Being expertly balanced it is suitable for all skin types, skin concerns and environmental conditions. The signature blend of four aromatic plant oils and specially woven 100% cotton muslin cloth give you an incredibly glowing, radiant skin with a smoother, more refined texture. The difference can be seen instantly and just keeps on improving with use.
Probably the prettiest vitamins in the world, Total Skin and Body Supplements by Perricone MD contain 30 sachets with four capsules each filled with fatty acids and minerals that are essential for the healthy skin.
We’ve already written here before how effective sulfur could be in fighting existing acne and preventing it from appearing in the future. Peter Thomas Roth‘s Sulfur Cooling Masque is another great product with this powerful ingredient. It’s an aromatic medicated masque with eucalyptus, sulfur and purified clay designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, cleanse oily, T-zone, clogged pores, and clear blemishes.
REN ClearCalm 3 Replenishing Gel Cream is a soothing gel-cream formulated to leave blemish prone skin replenished, comfortable and calm while combating the three key causes of breakouts and blemishes: excess sebum, build up of dead skin cells and blemish-causing bacteria. A sensitive but powerful product that need to be in your emergency kit at all times.
WARNING! You should never even think of purchasing a comedone extractor if you’re a type of person who gets easily addicted to things. Or a perfectionist for that matter. There’re just way too many horror stories on the net about people abusing this tool and getting their faces scared for life. If after a thorough consideration, you want to give it a try, start with Tweezerman Blackhead Extractor, which has a thin angled loop to gently roll out white heads and a flat side to press out blackheads. Its textured “no slip” grip design is perfect even for a DIY-facial beginner. Though for God’s sake, remember to always sterilise your tools first with alcohol or antibacterial soap and hot water, only use it on super-clean skin and be sure to clean both skin and tools again after use.
