Swedish Beauty and Cosmetics Awards – Part II: Shopping List

Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards Winners Make-Up

In the second part of the report from Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards 2014, (SBCA) we’ve chosen nine winners that you simply can’t miss. Three in each category: make-up, skincare and haircare.

The theme among all of this year’s nominees is innovation. Most of the products we feature here are truly one of a kind: from self tanner with a pleasant scent (that we didn’t even know existed) to a super sonic facial cleanser. If you’ve just finished the spring clean in your cosmetics wardrobe and looking for a fresh start, here are the products that should be on your shopping list.

L’Oréal Paris Nude Magic CC Cream glides on easily and makes skin feel silky and look fresh. It’s a moisturiser, sunscreen and foundation in one for less than 15€.

High-tech brush of Dior‘s Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara delivers extreme curl, while its stretch-effect formula helps to shape the lashes. Professional results in a luxury packaging.

Haven’t we all dreamt of a magic eyeliner that draws perfectly straight flattering lines? It has finally arrived – Smashbox Cosmetics Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner: easy application, bright pigments, long lasting effect and it even sharpens itself!

Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards Winners Skincare

If you are going to try a self-tanner, you just got one shot at it, so don’t agree on anything else but the best. Sisley Super Soin Autobronzant Hydratant Corps has a lovely scent, light and easily applicable texture and provides you with the most natural results. Everything we wanted from autobronzants, but couldn’t get before.

We included Clarisonic Mia2 in Beauty Pie’s Christmas Wishlist and now SBCA jury has come up with a special category for this device so that the Swedish beauty industry could recognise the significance of this revolutionary on the cosmetics market. Do you need more reasons to go and get yourself one?

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 might become the new cult product among all-purpose-moisturisers. It has already replaced Elizabeth Arden‘s Eight Hour Cream in the purses of Swedish beauty editors and we’re taking it for granted that you’re next.

Swedish Beauty & Cosmetics Awards Winners Haircare

From left to right:

This year in nine hair categories Swedish brands took home five prizes: impressive results considering that the competitors were L’Oréal, Kérastase, Shu Uemura and label.m among others. Sachajuan‘s Dark Volume Powder is a dry shampoo especially created for dark hair that not only provides you with a fresher look but also gives you texture and volume.

Aline has previously reviewed Davines OI/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion and was pretty vocal about her approval. Now as another product from the same line Davines OI/All In One Milk has won in nomination Best Haircare Product of the Year (in salon category), we guess it gives as much creditability to us as to Davines.

Björn Axén has four winning products this year. Hands down our favourite is their Magic Style Brush. It’s dummy proof and very straight forward: combining the best of two traditional styling tools – curling iron and round brush, this magic wand (ohh, no, sorry, magic brush) makes both hairstyling and vacation packing easier than ever.
