Review Kjaer Weis – Lip Tint, Goddess

Love at the first site.

It’s been a long time since I was so thrilled about getting my hands on a make-up product. In the last couple of years I have been slowly but steadily transitioning towards organic cosmetics, which are notorious for being bottom line ugly. That’s why the glossy metal packaging of my Kjaer Weis Lip Tint is the prettiest item in my whole handbag. And I could be happier about it.
The tint itself:
… does not make my lips dry. However I haven’t spotted any extraordinary moisturising properties either. It doesn’t stay too long: after a half an hour all you have left is a little hint of colour, and after 60 minutes of chit-chatting with your girlfriends or taking a bite – it’s all gone. When applied on the lips, the colour appears much lighter than in the package. On the picture below, I’m wearing the darkest, velvety-plumish tone called Goddess. On me it looks more like a semi-translucent berry shade. Nonetheless, I love it and I think it suits me well:
The packaging:
… might not be the most convenient one for a lip tint: because you have to reapply the product multiple times throughout the day, and doing it with dirty fingers doesn’t sounds very appealing. So you have to either wash your hands every time before you use the tint, or apply it with a brush.
Also I am a little concerned about the fact that during a couple of weeks I had it in my purse, the packaging with a magnetic lock got slightly open on itself, threatening to destroy both my bag and the lip-tint. It might not be as much of a problem for the girls who maintain perfect order in their handbags, but I had to separate it from the rest of my belongings by sending it to eternal solitude in the smallest pocket inside my purse.
However I do like the concept behind the packaging a lot: once investing 38€ (well, lets agree it’s a bit pricy for a 2.4g product) in the stunning metal casing, you don’t need to splurge again, instead you can buy refills (22€ each), saving both the money and the waste.
To summarize, I would say that in my opinion the product is not perfect, but for aesthetic reasons, I would not hesitate to buy it again (actually, number one on my shopping list is Kjaer WeisHighlighter).
And, perhaps, I might add, that if you do not know what to give a friend as a birthday gift or a thank you present, Lip Tint from Kjaer Weis is your perfect choice: beautiful shades that will suit pretty much everyone, a nice heavy case, packaged in a red cardboard box: can it get any better?
